Packing supplies will usually cost between $30 and $150, but there’s no guarantee your nearest big box store will have what you need in the first place. If you’re really desperate, you can ask around at office parks, bookstores, and even liquor stores. They usually have sturdy boxes they’re willing to part with. (Or, you can skip the whole hassle and pay for packing services.)
Unless you’re paying for full-service packing (which is always a good idea), you should start packing 2-3 months in advance. Start with your least-used stuff, and slowly move up to your more frequently-used items.
